Biography 

Troy Todd has almost twenty years as an administrator in the Howard County Public School Systems.  Mr. Todd served as an Affiliate Professor at Johns Hopkins University in the School of Education for five years and is currently an Affiliate Professor at Loyola University.  Prior to serving as an administrator, Mr. Todd taught second and third grades, respectively, and founded the Bringing Kids Success after-school program.  Mr. Todd earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Morgan State University and earned a Master in Education from Loyola University.  He has held various leadership positions in Howard County and proudly earned National Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), Math Teacher of the Year award in 2003 and was named the 2017 Washington Post Distinguished Principal of the Year for Howard County Public Schools. He was also awarded an NAACP Platinum Year Service Award in 2017.  Most recently, Mr. Todd was selected to open the newest elementary school in Howard County, Hanover Hills Elementary School.  Mr. Todd is dedicated to helping create model education programs and to bringing out the best in every child that he serves.
