Welcome to the Montessori Graduate Program!

Loyola's graduate program in Montessori education is designed to foster collaboration, innovation, and diverse opportunities for practitioners like you within a global network of Montessori professionals. Rooted in our core pillars--Diverse Voices, Inclusive Practices, and Educational Change--this program is committed to shaping strong outcomes for both our students and the communities they serve.

Our Montessori program offers three pathways toward one degree, providing flexibility to meet your needs. At the heart of the program is a five-course core sequence, carefully designed to align with our program outcomes and support your professional growth.

Moodle Orientation

You will access your online courses through Moodle, Loyola's Course Management System (). 

Upon admission, you will be enrolled in a Moodle course called "MO Student Orientation," and will be expected to complete the course prior to the start of your first semester. You can find the orientation by logging into Moodle and selecting the course on your dashboard. Note: Professional and Credit for Prior Learning students are enrolled in this Moodle Orientation at the start of the program. Concurrent students will complete this orientation prior to their first Summer term, after AMI training.

All students must complete this orientation. The goal is to help you become technically familiar with the Moodle platform and format prior to the start of your coursework, thereby supporting your success throughout the program.

In addition to completing the orientation course, we strongly encourage you to read through and bookmark our in order to better prepare yourself for success in the online graduate coursework.

Recommended Text

It is recommended that all students purchase APA: The Easy Way (Updated for 7th Edition) by Houghton & Houghton prior to beginning their coursework. Students may purchase this through the , , or elsewhere.

Capstone Practicum 

The capstone seminar is a final major independent and personalized project before you complete the Master's degree in Montessori Education. Practicum must be done in a professional setting in combination with your program pathway.
